10th

Of every month is when your prior-month close lands on your desk. P&L, balance sheet, cash on hand.

If your books are behind, your reports are unreliable, or you’re just done being the one who deals with it, this is what the first 30 days look like when someone skilled takes it off your plate.

## What your first 30 days look like.

Every engagement starts with a kickoff call with your account manager. The goal is simple: understand your business, your current bookkeeping setup, and the full scope of support you need. From there, we match you with a bookkeeper based on personality, experience, and skill set, not simply availability. Once read-only access is granted to your books, whether that is QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, or something else, the timeline below begins.

Day 1-5

### Your book audit.

The bookkeeper matched to you gets into your books and delivers a written audit by the end of your first week: what is reconciled, what is not, what is miscategorized, and where AR is sitting.

Day 12

### Catch-up reconcile, the boring part done.

Bank and credit-card accounts reconciled to the prior month-end. Categorization fixed in the chart you already use, no rebuild, no “we don’t work that way.” Anything ambiguous comes back as a short list of yes/no questions.

Day 21

### First clean P&L on your desk.

P&L, balance sheet, cash on hand for the prior month: same three reports you’ll get every month after. Delivered with a short note that flags anything weird without you having to scroll for it.

Day 30

### Monthly close on a calendar.

Standing AP and AR rhythm. Bills paid on terms, invoices out the door, slow payers gently chased. By month two, you have a financial system that runs on its own rhythm. The close happens, the reports land, and you only hear from the bookkeeper matched to you when something actually needs you.

No contracts. Month to month. [Book a discovery call](/book-call/) to get started.

The actual comparison

## Not the $5/hr VA tier. The $60-80k hire tier.

A senior bookkeeper, on retainer, for what you’d spend on a junior in-house hire. Minus the months of recruiting and the year of management.

In-house full-time hire

$60-80k / yr

- ~9 weeks to hire

- Plus benefits, software, training

- You manage them, week to week

- Loses a week if they quit

OkayRelax bookkeeper

From $750 / mo

- Matched in 2 to 3 business days

- Account manager runs the account

- Month to month, no setup fee

- Rematch fast if something’s off

Your account manager

## A dedicated account manager. The person you actually call.

Every account has a dedicated account manager, separate from your bookkeeper. They run the kickoff, own the match, and are the person you reach if something needs to be rematched, escalated, or just sanity-checked. Every assignment has a quality bar. You aren’t the one chasing it.

**One dedicated match.** If your assistant ever needs to change, we run the handover.

From clients

## Real reviewers. Real names. Real dates.

“They’ve saved me a lot of time dealing with a variety of tasks: canceling and scheduling appointments, booking work trips and vacations, researching, etc. It is really nice having a dedicated assistant and my assistant Anas has exceeded my expectations!”

Roy · OkayRelax client · review on VirtualAssistantAssistant.com, August 2018

“I’ve worked with a few different VA services, including Fancy Hands and Habiliss, and OkayRelax has been the best experience so far. Skilled assistants that can handle a variety of tasks, good communication, and very reasonably priced.”

Isaac Odim · OkayRelax client · review on VirtualAssistantAssistant.com, July 2018
